Even if they decide to close any of the Iris "official" servers... Who says that we can't do stuff on our own. That was our idea from the start. Do you think they have all the instances we got? World bosses? Chain quests and more? Nop, they don't!

They were never making any good updates anyway. At least if they don't do anything about the third classes, now we can finally get them out, not having to wait and see if they will decide to get them out.

Don't worry and don't be paranoid. This game will be much better, since we might even get more people that want to continue playing the game, and will get us to work even harder!

I agree that this can only do good things for NoScrubs. Being one of the top rated private Iris servers will assuredly draw in the diehards and lovers of Iris from Retail. As it is, most of them are here anyways, but now every other player will be looking for somewhere to go. Perhaps a lot of people will be so mad about losing thier game, they wont bother looking here, but I'm sure many, especially those that maybe didnt invest years and big $ on retail, will come over. And the addition of more peope can only be good for us! More publiciity, notariety, and hopefully donators = faster, better updates! I'm excited to see what happens, and to see maybe some more activity My only question/concern is, what will happen to the people's items in game? Really, its just a game, but many of those people have spent years cultivating and perfecting characters, spending a lot of money in doing so. Will they lose everything? Hopefully if the game IS truely closed, they will compensate all those that spent all that money. Unlikely. HA

I very much doubt they will do anything of the kind. You see, it's a product they bought and it is a company that was selling it. They will say that they used those items while playing, they didn't go wasted, and that's it.
Maybe they'll get a dollar or two in exchange on another gPotato game.

Well, as someone who used to play retail Iris for quite a while, I am a little saddened to hear that they are shutting down the retail server. But that doesn't necessarily mean the death of us. We have managed to keep quite a large community of faithful players who have stayed through thick and thin. But I guess that it only would have been a matter of time until it went down. Things started to get really crappy when Sun and Star merged and they lost a lot of their player base (including me). I got tired of all the way over priced shit in the store. And how greedy the people in game were. All the cash items were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive. To me, it just wasn't worth it anymore.
As a sun player, I was done with all the NW drama. Got tired of them completely taken over. Tired of the drama in the guild I was in, until it completely imploded just before the server merge. Tired of how lazy Gpotato was getting with server maintenance. Tired of everything. I gave up on my Magician and thats when I discovered Noscrubs. And i've been playing here happily ever since. Most of the people I met in the time i was playing were awesome.
I'm sure that we will be keeping our player base LONG after GPotato is gone. But I will have some fond memories of retail.

RIP Gpotato Iris. I've had so many good memories there, and it will surely be missed. NoScrubs has been my home for a long time, and I'm glad I came to this server so long ago. It was to be expected that Gpotato Iris would eventually close. The lack of player population and laziness of the devs killed it.

I think this might be a good thing though for this server. More player population. Plus now Sedy can do more than he could before because he doesn't have to wait for retail to get off their asses and update. He did after all give us many things before retail got them. Everything is there in the databases, including the 3rd jobs. :woohoo:

Saw this coming ages ago to be honest. Just look at their last update. They pushed out ToA without so much as a word with huge new *empty* maps, no promised pet system either. It's not entirely gpotato's fault though since the actual developers of the game lost interest in it a long time ago which was when some of the asian Iris servers closed. I expect they only had to fulfil the remainder of their contract with gpotato and threw them a few half baked updates to shut them up. I never understood why gpotato didn't advertise the game though.

Anyway, it doesn't really mean that much to us. If anything it makes it easier to get the 3rd jobs in at some point since I won't have to worry about trying to keep it like retail. The only negative is there will be no more *stuff* to grab, like textures and maps, but we have plenty of unused stuff still and those new maps to do things with. When all that runs out I have the tools to create my own anyway.

So no need to worry, the server isn't going anywhere!

Dont forget the thai server now or the other ones. We can grab new textures from them. :P

Well...I just noticed the closing of Gpotato servers today, and was saddened by it...I never expected Irisonline to close officially on Gpotato...now, I need to start with a new character and all...wahhahhahhahaha...but i know this is good for noscrubs, since noscrubs is a popular gamesite, right after gpotato, so i guess i have to just make a new account and all, and then level up the same way i did with my old one...hey, is this server a little different from the official one, or exactly the same? And are there the same classes and weapons and monsters/enemies? And are there more or the same number of character customization when making the character? I want to make a character that looks just like my old one...

We are different in some ways. We got a custom dungeon, higher difficulty dungeons, chain quest, world bosses, armor, weapons, here all cash shop items can be obtained by getting scrub tears and you get those by voting, being online (hourly), or donating. We got a donation vendor but no worries you can also get ahold of the titles and other items in there by trading items for moolah (donation currency) or donation also. Our players base goes between 200-300 players from all over the world. Our rates are kinda high when it comes to questing. That just gives you the oppurtunity to try all the classes and races that iris has to offer. We are also working on the 3rd jobs and more content for you all. We are coming up with events more and more. There is me, Coffee, Legendary and Sunrise. You'll catch us in game. There are plenty of guilds to join with many people to play with

You can also create your character just like retail no worries.
